The increase in ferry transportation of goods Ukraine – Georgia

Actions of the Russian side to tighten the conditions of admission of goods coming from Ukraine and transiting to the East, has led to unprecedented growth in the volume of ferry transportation across the Ukrainian coast.

Reported about it, speaking in Odessa during the X international forum «black sea container summit”, Deputy Chairman of SOE “Administration of sea ports of Ukraine" Vyacheslav Voronoy.

«In connection with the complexities of cargo passing through the territory of the Russian Federation and the tightening of conditions since July, the freight traffic literally poured in the port of Ilyichevsk. As a result, the volume of ferry traffic through Ilyichevsk increased 1.3 times», - said V. Crow. As said the speaker, increase loaded with Galleries in the port amounted to 4 thousand units, loaded carriages – around 1 thousand units. Thus, from the beginning, the missed port via ferry loaded with more than 17 thousand vehicles and more than 4 thousand of freight cars. These flows had a significant damping effect on the falling loading port.

Recall, as reported by RZD-Partner, at the end of 2015 the cargo turnover of the Illichivsk sea port has decreased by 1%; for the 1st half of this year, the decline accelerated to 9 percent.
